Elevating success, shaping tomorrow's leaders

Welcome to the Upper School at St. Catherine’s, where pride in our students’ achievements and development knows no bounds.

“Our aim is to create reflective, independent, life-long learners. We have a commitment to developing the whole child and to develop each to be a global citizen.”

Dr. Stuart Bond
Deputy Head and Head of Upper School

Here at the Upper School we offer a nurturing yet contemporary curriculum designed to pave the way for extraordinary academic success and prestigious university and college placements.

Our students stand out not only for their academic rigor but for their willingness to challenge themselves beyond the traditional confines of classroom learning.

Our commitment extends beyond academic excellence. At St. Catherine's, we cultivate a deep sense of social responsibility, compassion, and intercultural understanding in our students. Through dedicated community service and engagement in charitable endeavors, they learn the importance of contributing positively to society.

Our students embark on a journey of self-discovery, learning the value of volunteerism and the impact of their actions on making the world a better place.

The Upper School journey is segmented into distinct phases, each designed to meet our students’ evolving educational and developmental needs. In every phase, our focus remains on empowering students to exceed their potential, preparing them for a future where they not only succeed but also lead with integrity, empathy, and a global perspective.

Join us at the Upper School of St. Catherine’s, where education transcends academic achievements, nurturing leaders of tomorrow who are prepared to innovate, inspire, and contribute meaningfully to a global community.

Key Stage Three

Years 7-9 (ages 11-14 years)

At the heart of Key Stage Three is a curriculum grounded in the National Curriculum for England, enhanced by a deep appreciation for the rich culture of our Greek home. Greek Language and Classical Civilsation courses are integral, celebrating our unique setting and offering students a connection to the local heritage.

Beyond the classroom, we bring culture and history to life through an extensive array of day and residential trips, as well as dynamic performances.

Key Stage Four

Years 10 and 11 (ages 14-16 years)

With 22 GCSE subjects on offer, our curriculum is carefully constructed around a compulsory core that includes Mathematics, English, Science, Humanities and Foreign Language.

This core not only equips our students with a robust foundation of knowledge, but it also ensures a seamless transition to the IB Diploma programme, opening doors to future academic and career opportunities without limitations.

International
Baccalaurate

Years 12 and 13 (ages 16-18 years)

At St. Catherine's, our IB Programme has a remarkable legacy of success. In 2025, St. Catherine's was ranked the #1 IB programme in Greece and #4 in Europe, and in 2026, a record three students achieved a perfect score of 45, with 33% of students achieving top-tier scores of 40 points or higher.

These achievements are noteworthy considering that the IB Diploma is not a track reserved for a select few at St. Catherine's; it is our core academic pathway undertaken collectively by the graduating class. These  achievements demonstrate the power of an inclusive environment where students are supported to meet the challenge of a rigorous, world-class curriculum.
