Early Years
In our Early Years, we measure a brilliant day by the depth of a child's discoveries—and yes, sometimes by the mud on their boots. We champion messy hands and joyful, curiosity-led play.
Inside, our flexible mini-environments belong entirely to the children, giving them the freedom to choose and shape their space every day. Whether they want to build, create, concoct, or curl up in a cosy reading nook to fall in love with a story, their imagination leads the way.
Step outside, and the adventure expands. We introduce Forest School at this age, taking learning beyond the traditional school walls into the natural world. Out here, children explore, build confidence, and discover that the outdoors is the ultimate classroom.
Lower School
Lower School sits on our vibrant original site—the warm heart of our campus since 1973. It is a place rich in history, where a sense of tradition meets thoughtful, targeted updates to create truly inspiring spaces for growing minds.
Inside, children thrive in tailored learning hubs, including a newly designed art room, alongside separate, dedicated libraries for KS1 and KS2 to fuel a lifelong love of reading. We also take great pride in our most recent update - our refreshed KS1 play and pitch area for active outdoor play.
The outdoor adventure doesn't stop in Early Years, either. Forest School continues in Lower School, taking learning out into nature to build confidence, independence, and a deep connection to the environment.
Upper School
Opened in 2020, our Upper School represents the newest chapter of our campus—a bright, state-of-the-art space designed to inspire older students to think big, create boldly, and expand their horizons.
Light-filled classrooms anchor an environment built for modern learning. Here, students bring big ideas to life in advanced science labs, our cutting-edge "Fab Lab" maker space, and dedicated hubs for art, music, and drama. Central to the Upper School experience is the impressive Upper School library, featuring a wide assortment of books, study spaces and a mini amphitheatre that regularly hosts guest speakers.
It is a modern, forward-thinking space that reflects the energy and ambition of our students as they prepare for the world beyond our doors.
The St. Catherine's IB experience offers an environment designed specifically for our oldest students. While housed within our Upper School building, the IB journey feels distinct, offering an elevated level of independence and exclusive facilities.
Students have access to dedicated spaces built for high-level academic inquiry, including a bespoke IB study room and an exclusive IB science lab. When it is time to recharge, step away from the books, or catch up with friends, students head up to our most popular feature: the IB rooftop and café. This dedicated space supports balance and wellbeing, offering a mature setting to study, socialise, and refresh.
Crucially, being part of the wider Upper School allows our IB students to naturally step into leadership roles, serving as visible role models while enjoying a privileges-filled, pre-university experience of their own.
The St. Catherine's British School Theatre
Designed to bring people together, our state-of-the-art theatre is a cherished facility enjoyed by our entire school family and the broader community.
With seating for around 350 guests, the space offers the perfect balance: spacious enough to host grand productions, concerts, and community events, while maintaining a warm, intimate atmosphere . Combining sophisticated staging with cutting-edge audio and lighting technology, it provides our students with a professional-grade platform to shine, perform, and share their passions with an engaged audience.
