Admissions Overview

Discover the Magic of Learning at St. Catherine's

Welcome to St. Catherine’s British School.

Our Admissions team is here to support you through your child’s admissions journey to join our school.

Choosing the right school for your child is an important and personal decision, and we are here to guide you through every step of the journey and answer any questions you may have, however small.

We are always happy to meet with prospective families to give a preview of what life is like at St. Catherine's. We host weekly welcome tours for prospective Early Years and Lower School families during term time, as well as appointment-based visits to welcome you to our Upper School to offer the opportunity to see classes in action and speak with members of our community. Your first point of contact will be with a member of our Admissions Team, who will guide you through your child’s age-appropriate admissions process.

Our aim is to ensure that families gain an understanding of life at St. Catherine’s and discover whether the school is the right place for their child to grow and thrive, while we work to identify applicants who are ready to thrive within the excellence of our curriculum and who have a mindset that resonates with our values of care, integrity, curiosity and dedication.

Once the initial stage of the admissions process is complete, we invite children to experience learning at St. Catherine’s in ways that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.

  • In Early Years, our Stay and Play sessions allow children to explore the exploration-driven environment through curiosity-led activities.
  • In Lower School, Day in Class gives applicants the opportunity to join lessons and experience the rhythm of a typical school day alongside their peers.
  • Older students meet personally with the Head of Upper School for an introduction to learning and life in the Upper School.

These experiences allow families and students to see our community in action and understand what makes St. Catherine’s such a special place to learn and grow.

We very much look forward to meeting you and your family and helping you discover St. Catherine’s.

Key Dates for Academic Year Admissions

A new admissions cycle begins every October for the following academic year (i.e. the admissions process for the 2027/2028 academic year begins in October 2026). The school does not maintain waiting lists from one year to the next but begins the admissions cycle anew each year. Due to the popularity of the school, we are often faced with a high level of demand for a limited number of available places.

Entry can be made at any point during the course of the year, especially for expatriate families, and therefore we will accept applications all year round according to availability.
